Well, it's official.

After cramming four shoes onto every shoe self (how's that for a mouth full?) in my closet, I have realized it's simply not working out. Not the shoes, of course, but the storage situation. Heck, I bought two new pairs of shoes yesterday (one pair was slippers, but still) and I can't find even the smallest of spaces to put them. And it's a shame too, as one pair is quite beautiful.

So what is a girl to do? Of course I ignored the fact that my dearest mother claimed I have too many shoes. One can never have too many shoes. Some collect stamps, others dried flowers, but I collect (and love, very very much) shoes. A connoisseur of the footwear, dare I say. Shoes are sculptural forms of art you can wear on a day-to-day basis, what's not to love?! I ignored the advice of my good friend as well, he suggested getting rid of some after being shut down (just like my mom) when he dared to question the growing number of shoes in my closet.

I did briefly consider storing my babies in boxes, but that simply would not do. Such beautiful pieces of art need to be displayed! And need to be seen so I can pick the perfect complement (or inspiration) to an outfit! After a bit of pondering, I was struck with a brilliant idea. I will buy tall a bookcase with many shelves, probably around 6 or 7 inches apart to start storing my new shoes.

So now, I can be at peace with my shoe situation. The only thing left to do now?
Buy a bookcase.

On a different note, I absolutely cannot wait to feature not only my gorgeous booties but my new black edgy heels I purchased yesterday. They are both very nice additions to my fall wardrobe. I test-wore the booties yesterday as well, and they were soooooo insanely awesome. And comfortable too! I'm in love.

And just one more snipet of information... last week I wore my beloved acid wash jeans to school and received many compliments! I was thrilled. Of course, even if I had received none, I myself would still bask in their glory. But the fact that everybody else thinks they're fierce? That's pretty alright too :)

Until next time,

Sarah

OH! P.S.
I GOT THIS HERE BLOG APPROVED FOR MY SENIOR PROJECT! And for all of you who don't understand what this means, just imagine you opened your front door to find the most gorgeous pair of fuchsia Louboutin ankle boots.
Okay, okay, maybe it's not that exciting. But for me, it comes close! (Again, an understatement...) Basically, it's a really good thing :D

  1. Nice idea about a new bookshelf for shoes, but perhaps we wait until swim is done and you have all that extra free time so you could clean your room and make a place for a new piece of furniture?!?

  2. First, I love her, but your Mom is wrong, wrong, wrong! You just cannot have too many shoes! I finally had to dispose of a lot of old faves that I just can't wear any more - sob, sob! There is one pair I just couldn't part with - they are at least 40 years old and timeless classics - but the heels are too high now.
As for displaying them - I don't think a bookcase is the answer. Why don't you go to a closet place - I remember a great one in Bellevue. In that kind of store there are probably several options to consider.
I think your Dad has a good idea, too, for making all of your things look better! Nanny
