A few updates on my life (yes yes I know this is a fashion blog but hey, what if you're interested?):
1. I'm officially going to be going to UW in the fall! I'm so excited. Go Huskies!
2. I'm road trippin' this weekend... yeaaah boy. I'm very excited. And in two weeks I'll be in VEGAS! :D
3. School is slowly ripping apart my insides like termites would tear apart the wood work of a house...
Anyway, I would just like to present to you all my top five looks from the Oscars last weekend. And none of the dresses I hoped would be worn made appearances, but nevertheless most everyone still looked dashing!
These all just stood out to me... especially the last one on Zoe Saldana. It looks like a pinata. Rachel McAdam's dress (the fourth picture) looks like a water color painting. Something by Matisse, perhaps? And the other three are just simply, elegant and stunning. Fabulous!
Also, here is a ten dollar t-shirt I'm feeling extremely strong urges to purchase... hopefully my mother will be reading this and will put her two cents in about it! I love it though and I'm probably going to buy it anyway, regardless of what she says. I love t-shirts and this is funny. A little comic relief via clothing articles is always good, yes?
Sarah bear, your blogs always make me smile. I think all the dresses are pretty, except for the pinata one. The reason I don't like it is the same reason why you like it...it looks like a pinata. Why would you want to wear a pinata? Oh well, the world would be a very boring place if we all liked the same things.
ReplyDeleteAs for the t-shirt? Does it say anything on the back? It is cute though and definitely YOU. The purple nail polish is very pretty. When we get back from our road trip, I just might need to paint my nails that beautiful springlike color!
xoxo yo momma
Sarah, I am delighted to see your post - been waiting for your conclusions about the Oscar attire. I agree with your Mom - your choices were all beautiful, except for the Pinata. It not only is not attractive in a still photo, but did you see her trying to manage it when she walked onstage?
ReplyDeleteI am sorry you are finding your school ork so burdensome. I thought that these final months would be relativly easy as you pull it all together!
Anyway, the next couple of weeks will be an exciting time for you, Kristin and your Mom. It will be a great adventure to drive across our country. I know I never realized how vast and diverse a place it is till Grampa and I did it in 1978. I'll miss you while you are gone!
xoxoxo Nanny
Where are the ugly pictures or the ones where the body parts are wrestling with each other trying to escape a poor fit? And didn't any guys go to the Oscars this yr? I know I am pretty close to James Bond when decked out in my tux, but you never know when I am going to need some new fashion ideas for all the fancy parties your mother and I are going to after you leave.
ReplyDeleteNot that I want you to turn into Joan Rivers and totally dis on the big losers of the night but you do have a good eye for fashion screw ups and well, I still wear pinstripe shirts that scream 90's.
And that termite thing, don't sweat it. You are so far ahead in school, taking a day or two off (excused of course), won't hurt your future!
Yay for being a Husky!!! We are all very excited over here :) Agree with your assessment of the Oscar dresses (except one) although I loved Sandra Bullock's as well which didn't make your top five. The purple pinata dress was my least favorite...looks like a purple fungus at the bottom of her dress or possibly purple parsley/cabbage? But hey, you are much younger than me and way more hip so I value your fashion opinions! Have a blast on your upcoming travel adventures! Hugs!!!
