Sunshine!

It's another beautiful day outside and I'm loving it! I had great weather in Seattle as well, it was simply gorgeous. I love spring :)

So as you all probably know, the Academy Awards are today! I'm super excited, I love seeing what everyone is wearing and of course seeing what great movies, producers, directors and actors win awards!

I've revisited several spring collections and these are the gorgeous gowns I hope to see some lovely ladies wearing tonight.

Elie Saab
So I definitely see this dress on someone a bit older. Not super old, but not someone young. Middle-aged, probably. It's gorgeous but I feel like on a young woman it wouldn't be the right fit.

This dress is marvelous. I could see this on someone like Anna Kendrick. The color would look stunning against her fair skin.

Fendi
This dress is a little different, but I think it's gorgeous nonetheless. Somebody Carey Mulligan-esque could pull this off.

J. Mendel
Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous! Nearly anyone could wear this and look perfect.

Despite the blond model, I think this dress would look best on a brunette. I could see Gabourey Sidibe looking lovely in this, the almost neon yellow would look amazing against her skin.

Jason Wu
This would definitely have to be worn by someone young! This is so fun and exciting, I love it.

Oscar de la Renta
Again, I think someone younger would have to wear this. It's sexy yet classy, and the color is insane! I love the ruffle detail too.

I could definitely see Meryl Streep in  this. Or even Sandra Bullock, but I would love to see her in something with some more color. This dress just seems better for an older woman.

Versace
So this would definitely be a risk, but I think if the right woman wore it it would be amazing. Definitely very daring though.

Again, something very daring. It reminds me of something Megan Fox would wear because of the intense slit.

I have to go finish up my homework before the Oscars start... I can't have all play and no work, unfortunately.

Have a great day, though!

  1. The Versace dress with the slit up to the crotch...daring is right. Though even if someone had a perfect figure and gorgeous legs, I think a dress cut that high is not flattering. I do like several of the other dresses. The orange ruffled Oscar dress is so pretty. I like the blue Ellie Saab dress too. The oscars will be fun to watch. The red carpet part is the best!

  2. I don'tlike the dresses slit way up to afford a glimpse of one's crotch! The first few gowns were beautiful, classy and feminine, I thought. In each case the gown enhanced the woman, and vice versa!
I'll be interested in your commentary on the Oscar fashions. Mostly lackluster, I thought.

  3. Glad to be back in P Town with my Bear!! A question though...is it mandatory that models have bad hair and never smile? I can understand the straight face so the pearly whites wouldn't detract from the luster of the clothing, but the since the wild hair is the first thing that catches your eye, isn't that pulling attention away from the clothes??
